Reconstruction History of the Chapel Entrance
The front of the Chapel is covered to prepare for renovation of the
doors.
The Chapel as it looked like before November 2004.
The Chapel view once the renovation is completed December 2004.
The
old doors have been removed.
The renovation reveals very rotted main timbers along the front
of the Chapel - new timbers will be used to strengthen the foundation
for the new door way.
Underneath
the Chapel new supporting beams are installed.
The clutter of construction inside the Chapel
Four laminated 2" x 24" x 25' beams will be bolted together to span the
newly created 25' space across the front of the Chapel. This is the
first
beam half way up to its final destination.

Triangular beams make up for what was lacking in the original
construction in 1945.
New Door Installed in mid - December, 2004.
The Chapel Doors replaced for only the second time. The first being in
1946.

Benches, built and donated to the city by the Chapel during the
summer,
grace the Wildwood boardwalk. They are rarely used during the
long winter months.
